John Barden

All those associated with Sidley CC are deeply saddened to hear of the recent sudden death of John Barden.

Chairman Ian Mollart said: "John was a loyal club member who played the game hard but fairly. He was an aggressive batsman and good swing bowler. He was always keen to attack the bowling and would always score rapidly. He was a good committee member and darts player, and also played cricket for Rye and Winchelsea. He will be sadly missed. Our thoughts are with Helena, Simon and Melanie at this sad time."

A minute's silence for John was held at Sidley's recent home game against Battle.
