Sidley thrive in the sunshine

Buxted Park 3rd XI 103 (34.3 overs)  - 2 points

Sidley CC  109-2 (17 overs)  - 30 points

Sildey managed to win the toss again and asked 10-man Buxted Park to bat in glorious sunshine at the Sandhurst Recreation Ground. The visitors quickly set about the early bowling and moved steadily to an ominous 70 before their first wicket fell. However, as soon as change bowlers Helen Harrod and Mark Gransden were brought on, the visitors slipped to 87-3, and then collapsed in highly dramatic fashion to 103 all out, unable to cope with the accurate bowling.

In reply, Dave Coveney and Simon Newstead put on 84 for the first Sidley wicket before Dave Coveney was unluckily run out for 35. Simon Newstead (43) was stumped with the score on 98, and it was left to captain Josh Bull (14 n.o.) and Steve Ramsden (4 n.o.) to see Sidley home, with Josh Bull hitting a mighty six to earn Sidley the maximum 30 match points.
