SIDLEY CRICKET CLUB
Minutes of the committee meeting held on Monday June 11, 2007 at Sidley Sports & Social Club.

PRESENT: Ian Mollart (chairman), Mrs Jenny Mollart (treasurer).
Committee members: Tony Galvin, Cavan O’Connor, Simon Newstead, Jamie Ramsden, Ross Settles.

1 SUSSEX/EAST SUSSEX LEAGUES
Nothing reported.

2 FINANCIAL MATTERS
A bill of £19.74 for fixture cards had been received the previous Saturday and had been paid already.
Nine invoices for adverts in the fixture cards had been sent out and four had been returned already.
Some playing subscriptions are still to be paid. Mr Mollart to speak to the various captains.

3 COLTS
The under-10s have played four matches and are enjoying it.
The under-12s have lost all six of their games and the under-16s all three of theirs.
Mr Mollart said that training nights have been well attended and that it was good to see certain young players coming through.

4 OVERSEAS PLAYER
Mr Mollart praised Mr Manjot Singh’s work with the club’s colt players at training, and his bowling performance against Worthing.

5 ANY OTHER BUSINESS
Mr O’Connor asked what the club intended to do at the Sidley Residents’ Association fete on Sunday July 1. After some debate it was decided to run a lawn darts stall which Mr Mollart will man if not playing cricket.
Mr Ramsden said the club had obtained some netting for the new practice net courtesy of Mr Mark Gransden. The only outstanding item was now the green matting which Mr Gransden is apparently in the process of acquiring.
Mr Ramsden stated that the main club intends to apply for a Sport England grant and had asked the cricket section to draw up a list of any articles it would like. The list had already been started and was continued during and after the meeting.
Mr Loyd Stickells had inspected the temperamental electronics in the scorebox and will fix them on a date to be announced. The only thing the club may have to pay for is parts.
The friendly match against a Tyrone Wildman XI was called-off due to wet weather and has been re-arranged for Sunday September 9. The colts’ day has therefore been switched to the date vacated by the cancellation of the friendly against Hastings Wanderers during August.
Mr Settles asked for confirmation that the Club's 6-a-side day was on Sunday, July 29th, not the 15th as on the fixture card. The date had been changed at a previous committee meeting. Mr Mollart to check.
Mr Galvin said that he had not yet been able to submit a formal request to employers B&Q for a Better Neighbour Grant owing to a malfunctioning computer. He had, however, spoken to the person responsible for allocating such grants and some money has been set aside for the club.
Mr Galvin added that he had a contact for future race nights and discos.
Mr Ramsden said that notices are displayed in the changing room inviting players to state their availability for the three matches during Cricket Week.
Mr Mollart mentioned that the club had discovered some offensive notes in the away changing room after the Sidley v Bexhill under-16s match. He had written a letter to Bexhill requesting action be taken against the offenders and was anticipating a swift reply from their chairman Mr Mick Waghorn.

7 DATE OF NEXT MEETING
The next committee meeting will take place on Monday July 9, 2007.
The meeting closed at 9.15pm.
