The Ayr clubhouse and some of their players, who, to the club's credit, had turned out despite the fact there was virtually no possibility of any play. Unfortunately, the Prestwick ground was also too soggy to play on, had we been able to switch the venue. Ayr's Ist XI players are all under 25, although for the match against Sidley it was a team very much like ours.
