Agenda:

1.     Chairman Ian Mollart welcomed everyone and opened meeting.

2.     President’s Report:

Mark White sent his apologies but sent this message.

“Well done to all on a successful season. The club continues to grow. This year we need to continue the progress on the playing side, and continue to push forward options for the new ground when the opportunities to do so arise.”

3.     Minutes from 2018 AGM:  No matters arising, so signed as a true record.

4.     Chair’s Report (Ian Mollart):

“It has been a very successful year for our club both on and off the field. The 1st team, under Steve Ramsden, had a good season playing the game hard and fair and to come 2nd was a great achievement and with better availability during the season we could have been champions, but still a great season, well done Steve. To have a second team this year was a big challenge for everyone and Trevor Ramsden as captain was a real success. The time and commitment Trevor put in every week is much appreciated, getting players when you are short is never easy but we fulfilled every league game and all that played for Trevor are a credit to themselves. Their attitude and commitment was of the highest quality, so well done Trevor and all 2nd team players. Let’s hope for another good season.

I would like to thank Jamie, Trevor, Mark G., Jenny and Jackie for all the hard work during our Colts training, and Hollie Young who coached the girls. It was a complete success. Our future looks bright.

I can’t really say enough about Jamie Ramsden. The work he has put in every year is just so amazing and he never gives up. He is one of the reasons why we are such a successful club, and the future looks good with a home ground and a thriving colts section, So thank you Jamie - you are a wonderful club man.  I am so pleased to work with you.

I would also like to thank Ross Settles and Mark White for all they do for our club, attending meetings in Hove and all the paperwork they do. It is much appreciated, so thank you both.

Thanks to Jenny, Jackie and all the committee for their hard work and support.

Finally, I wish both teams, players and committee another good season and look forward to seeing you soon.”

5.     Treasurer’s Report:

R. Settles asked who the donations on the list were from.

J. Ramsden explained that we had made a great profit, but this is Heart of Sidley donations and RS getting sponsorship from local businesses. As we move forward to getting a new ground, there will be increases in match fees and subscriptions. These will cover things like insurance, ground care, etc. We have just paid out £550.00 for plans of the new ground. Fund raising will be key for the coming years.

L. Wray asked about subscriptions rising this year. He felt the current ones very reasonable compared to other clubs.

Yes, they will rise this year. We are awaiting confirmation of the cost for hiring the Sandhurst Recreation Ground. Jamie queried any rise as there had not been much extra to offer players in the past.

T. Ramsden suggested raising match fees to £12 per match rather than raising the subscription.

C. Ramsden pointed out the problem with this amount is there was not always change available.

L. Wray asked whether it would be the same charge for under 18’s?

An under 18 match fee of £5 match would encourage more of them to play adult cricket regularly.

T. Ramsden suggested junior subscriptions should be £10.

C. Ramsden pointed out that we try to promote free cricket for children.

J. Ramsden said that you need to be a club member {paid membership fee} to play in the league to claim insurance in case of injury.

It was decided to leave under 18 subscriptions and under 18s match fees (unless the player was in full time work) at £5.

AOB

I. Mollart suggested match fees stay the same but subscriptions go up by £5.

A discussion went on about subscriptions and match fees, the prospect of a new ground development, and having our own net facility to run.

R. Settles felt that both match fees and subscriptions should go up.

J. Ramsden explained how much money we would have to find to keep the club going, with club affiliation, pitch hire. Balls alone are £300.00 for the season.

There had been a £50 fine for not attending a League meeting, and there were costs for league dinner tickets.

J. Bull suggested that match fees go up from £8 to £10. 1st L. Wray;  2nd T. O’Connor.

R. Settles proposed £25 subscriptions.  1st J. Bull;  2nd J. Blackman.

Following further discussion, it was agreed that the senior subscription for 2019 would be £20, and the senior match fee £10 (including tea).

J. Ramsden pointed out that payments can be made by BACS monthly, if this helps.

J. Bull suggested this should be made known to all players.

Meeting closed at 20.30

 Addendum:

No AGM in 2020.

Committee had set senior subscription at £25 and senior match fee at £10 (unemployed match fee at £8; students and juniors at £5). U18 subscription unchanged at £5, likewise the match fee.
