Having won the home fixture against Forest Row earlier in the season by a massive 146 runs, Sidley were well beaten in the return fixture at Forest Row on Saturday.
The home side compiled a challenging total of 241-3 in 48 overs, thanks to 96 from their opening batsman, but in reply Sidley could manage only 148 before being bowled out in the 27th over.
There were useful contributions from Pater Capon (30), Craig Ramsden (45), Stuart Craig (25) and Chris Milton (32), but no-one was able to occupy the crease for the right length of time to match Josh Bull's 161 in the first match. Lack of match practice, with the last two matches having been called off, may have been the key factor in this defeat.
