Eastbourne 4th XI 248-8 (40 overs) - 12 points
Sidley 2nd XI 249-4 (34.5 overs) - 28 points
With the 1st XI match against Bexhill 4th XI at Sandhurst Recreation Ground called off due to Bexhill not being able to field a side, the Sidley 2nd XI was boosted by the inclusion of a number of 1st XI players who secured a good away win against Eastbourne 4th XI, chasing down a challenging total set by the home team who were asked to bat first.
Eastbourne stumbled to 85-6 against some early tight bowling (debutant Lawrence Wray 3-31 off 5 overs) before their number 7, Matthew Isepp, cut loose, scoring an impressive 132 n.o., accelerating the total to a very respectable 248.
Paul Oxborrow (30) saw the Sidley innings off to a strong start, and this momentum was continued by captain Steve Ramsden with a hard-hitting 102 n.o., and Craig Ramsden with an equally brisk 81 n.o. Such was the impetus maintained by these two batsmen, that the Eastbourne total was passed with 5 overs to spare.
