Maresfield 2nd XI 155 (45.4 overs) - 11 points
Visitors Maresfield won the toss and asked Sidley to bat, which was very much to their liking, with runs coming regularly from Simon Newstead (22), Paul Oxborrow (30), Josh Bull (106), Jacob McDonough (25) and Craig Ramsden (25). The 38 extras conceded by Maresfield turned out to be the second highest score for Sidley. Particular praise must go to the captain, Josh Bull, for another hard-hitting innings, enabling Sidley to set a very challenging total for Maresfield to chase.
The visitors never really looked like getting near the score required, losing wickets on a regular basis and ending up 106 runs short. Best of the Sidley bowlers was Mark Gransden with 5-31, but Steve Ramsden assisted with 2-31, and there was a wicket each for Craig Ramsden, Trevor Stanley and Cavan O'Connor.
If Sidley can keep up this form, then the league title is well within their grasp. On Saturday they travel to Burwash Weald to try to gain another 30 points.
