Sidley Well Beaten by Westfield

Sidley got the 2018 season off to a disappointing start with a 71-run defeat by Westfield CC at Westfield on Saturday.

Having won the toss, Westfield posted a respectable 218-6 off their 40 overs, aided by a generous number of extras from the visitors.

In reply, Sidley found the going difficult against some tidy bowling, with 8 batsmen being clean bowled. Captain Josh Bull (43) was the one player who managed to take control of the bowling for any length of time. Sidley were all out for 147 after 33 of their 40 overs.

Now that the players have had this valuable work-out, with a focus on everyone being able to contribute, they realise what they need to do to be ready for the opening Division 12 East fixture against Battle II at the Sandhurst Recreation Ground next Saturday (May 5th).
