Rules for second half of season

PLAYING CONDITIONS AS THEY APPLY TO THE SECOND HALF OF 2017 SEASON

In the first half of the 2017 season teams will play under the existing format (i.e. 93 overs with a 48 to 45 split) but in the second half of the season the games will be played on a limited overs format.

Divisions 6 to 12 will play 40 overs per side.

In the limited overs format the maximum number of overs per bowler will be 10 overs.

Bonus points will accrue as at present with 10 points for bowling and 10 for batting.

The winning side will receive 30 points and no bonus points.

In a limited overs match of 45 or 40 overs the side batting second must receive a minimum of 10 overs and the winner will be decided on run rates per over.

The side batting second must receive a minimum of 20 overs for a result to be achieved and the minimum of 20 overs must start by 6.30pm (6.00pm in the last two weeks of August and by 5.30pm in September).

Restrictions on the Placement of Fielders

Two semi-circles will be drawn on the field of play.
The semi-circles shall have their centre on the middle stump at either end of the pitch.
The radius of each of the semi-circles shall be 30 yards.
The ends of each circle shall be joined by a straight line drawn on the field on each side of the pitch.
The field restrictions area should be marked by discs (plastic) supplied by the League.
Each disc will be about 6/7 inches in diameter. (See diagram below for layout of fielding restrictions).
Failure to have the discs in place at the start of the game will incur penalties.

At the instant of delivery there must not be more than two fielders behind the popping crease on the leg side.

At all times, only five fielders are permitted to be outside the 30-yard restriction zone at the instant of delivery.

Wide Ball - Judging a Wide

Any ball which is bowled wide of the offside or leg side becomes a wide if it is sufficiently wide that in the opinion of the umpire it is impossible to execute a normal cricket shot.

At all times the Laws of the game will apply, excepting the conditions detailed above.
