Sidley CC 245-9 (48 overs) - 16 points
Mayfield 4th XI 164-6 (45 overs) - 14 points
Having chosen to bat first, Sidley lost early wickets, but Josh Bull (44) and Paul Oxborrow (53 n.o.) steadied the innings and added some strong momentum, with James Mott (56) hitting out strongly to steer the visitors to an impressive 245-9.
Sidley's opening bowlers had little luck against the Mayfield batting, but first-change bowler and captain for the day, Trevor Ramsden, took 3-28 off 9 overs and the pressure was on the home side. Mayfield then decided that to chase down a total of 245 was beyond their means, and the match ended up in a rather tame draw, with Mayfield 81 runs short of their target.
While Sidley remain top of Division 10, (13 points ahead of Glynde and Beddingham, who have a game in hand), they will be hoping for maximum points against Lewes Priory 2nd XI, who are in the bottom three, at the Sandhurst Recreation Ground next Saturday.
