Willingdon 3rd XI 130 (41 overs) - 30 points
Sidley CC 120 (43 overs) - 11 points
After two consecutive victories, Sidley slumped to a 10-run defeat against Willingdon on the Jevington ground. After the hosts were quickly reduced to 4-2, batsman Tom Kelly, with an unbeaten 84, single-handedly enabled Willingdon to reach a respectable, but eminently reachable target of 130. Andy Pearson took 3-27 for Sidley, and Craig Ramsden, Cavan O'Connor and James Mott each took two wickets.
In reply, David Coveney made 21 and Mark Gransden 27, and a later stand of 38 for the eight wicket between Paul Oxborrow (19 n.o.) and James Mott (31) took Sidley to within striking distance of the Willingdon target, but a devastating performance of 7-34 off 15.4 overs by Emily Jefferson saw the visitors fall agonisingly short.
Sidley will be hoping for a more-determined batting performance in the next fixture, against Seaford 4th XI on The Ridge.
