Sidley CC 224-6 (46.1 overs) - 30 points
Seaford 4th XI 80 (37.5 overs) - 6 points
Having been put in to bat by Seaford on the Sandhurst Recreation Ground, Sidley quickly found the visitors' bowling to their liking. Openers Dave Coveney (59) and Simon Newstead (75) provided an excellent platform for the innings, with Josh Bull adding a hard-hitting 49, and Sidley captain, Craig Ramsden, 18.
The visitors were always well behind the asking-rate, but provided some stubborn resistance against the early bowling. Once Craig Ramsden turned to spin, he (7-30 off 14.5 overs) and his father, Trevor Ramsden (2-13 off 3 overs), quickly ran through the Seaford batting to claim an important victory with time to spare.
The result is a good confidence-booster ahead of what could be a testing game away to Mayfield next Saturday.
