Sidley cling on for a draw

Sidley did well to battle it out for a draw against Crowhurst Park 3rd XI on Saturday after a disappointing performance with the ball and in the field (33 extras) saw the visitors amass a hefty score of 247-6 in their 50 overs on what was a fairly lifeless pitch.

In reply, Sidley wickets tumbled on a regular basis and it was only the determined concentration of later-order batsmen Paul Oxborrow (15 no) and Trevor Ramsden (4 no) that frustrated the visitors and enabled Sidley to hold out for a draw on 104-9 from 43 overs, with 22 extras the highest contributor.

With only 6 points gained from this match, Sidley have now slipped down the league table into 6th place, 19 points behind Buxted Park in 2nd place, and need to return to winning ways if they are to challenge the leaders.
