Sidley 3rd XI v. Lewes Priory 3rd XI

Sidley back on winning track!

Lewes Priory 3rd XI  -  169-8

Sidley 3rd XI  -  173-2

The team bounced back after last week's defeat by Newick with a comprehensive victory at Lewes on Saturday.

The home team were restricted to 169-8 due to some accurate bowling by Andy Pearson (4-35 from 17 overs) and Cavan O'Connor (1-21 from 11 overs). Trevor Ramsden and Simon Newstead also took wickets. Unfortunately, Extras again featured prominently (30), this time as the Lewes third highest scorer!

After losing Dane Capon early on in the innings, Sidley quickly settled to concentrate on achieving the objective without giving away easy wickets, as had happened in the two previous matches. Josh Bull led the way with a fine 79, ably assisted by experienced veteran Ian Mollart. Victory was achieved in the 34th over of the innings.

Well done to the team for bouncing back this week with such a focused performance.
