The Sidley 3rd Team lined up for a photo before their first league game of the season against Lewes Priory 3rd XI. They then went on to gain a comfortable won against the visitors.
Dane Capon took 3-5 and Stuart Craig 3-15 as Lewes slumped to 52 all out in 26 overs.
In the Sidley innings, Extras was top scorer with 23, with Ian Vye offering good support with a brisk 19. Bob Goodsell played an important anchor role as opener, getting off the mark with a scampered single in the 9th over. In all, it took Sidley just 11 overs to pass the Lewes total.
The team and supporters then enjoyed a welcome post-match refreshment over the road in the Robert de Mortain pub.
Well done to the team, to Andy for umpiring, to Ian and Jenny for providing the teas, and to all the supporters who turned up to back the Club - particularly as it was a very chilly afternoon!
Roll on Newick (A) next week!
