Report on AGM from Simon Newstead

NEIL Priddy was appointed captain of Sidley Cricket Club for the 2009 season at its AGM on Monday night.

Priddy replaces Peter King, who wasn’t prepared to stand for re-election after being a late replacement for Dan Auer when he stepped aside due to changing work commitments.
Hard-hitting batsman and pace bowler Priddy joined the Gullivers-based outfit in 2008 having previously played for Little Common Ramblers.
He will attempt to get the club back to winning ways in Division Three East of the Sussex Cricket League following its relegation from Division Two. Brad Holt is Priddy’s vice-captain.

Steve Ramsden will continue as second team skipper in 2nd XI Division Three East with teenage cousin Jamie Ramsden his new vice-captain.

Jim Stewart is the new man at the helm of the thirds after East Sussex League Division 12 title-winning captain Pete Savage wasn’t willing to carry on. Kevin Kempthorne is vice-captain.

Ian Mollart, Jenny Mollart and Trevor Ramsden remain chairman, treasurer and fixture secretary respectively, Ross Settles replaces Andy Pearson as vice-chairman and Neil Cunningham is secretary.

The committee will consist of Brad Holt, Chris Hunnisett, Peter King, Cavan O’Connor jnr, Cavan O’Connor snr, Jamie Ramsden and Steve Ramsden.

Many thanks to Simon for letting us have this article.
