In response, the home side were never really interested in, or indeed capable of, chasing our score, and despite an early breakthrough by Andy, and two surprise wickets from Jacob right at the end, the match petered out into a very tame draw, causing all of us much frustration. On a slow, lifeless pitch like the Jevington one, it is extremely difficult to prise out batsmen who are determined to dig in to prevent the other side winning.
