6-A-Side Competition

Sixteen club players turned up for the Sidley Sixes on a scorching Sunday, allowing for four teams of four, with two randomly selected players from the other teams helping out in each match to make it 6-a-side. Each side faced six overs (2 per bowler).

At the end of the day (5.30pm), 3 teams finished level on points, but Jamie Ramsden's "4th team" won the trophy due to losing fewest wickets in their 3 matches.

It was certainly hard work in the field, and running between the wickets in the fierce heat, but the day was enjoyed by everyone.

Special mentions to Jim for continuing his Saturday form with the bat, to Rachel who produced an excellent all-round performance with bat, ball and in the field, to Luke, who held a stunning catch in the deep to dismiss Craig - and to Craig who had little luck with the bat, but who fielded brilliantly throughout.

Many thanks to all those who turned out to make it a fun day - and to Jackie and June for providing the teas, and Trevor for providing us with an excellent pitch to play on.
