It is hoped to arrange at two-match flying trip (literally) to Scotland at the very end of July or very early August. The idea is to fly to Prestwick from Stansted with Ryanair (v. cheap flight - £42 return - 45 mins. flying time); 20-minute drive to Ayr Cricket Club; 2.30 match that day; overnight in hotel; afternoon match against another club in that same area, then either flight home that night, or, perhaps better, morning flight home next day. Minibus to and from Stansted. Approx price should be about £100 (one night hotel accommodation; £140, two nights.) Golfers who want to have extra time could play at Troon, which is opposite Prestwick Airport!
Ayr CC have just been promoted to the Scottish Premier League, so we shall not be asking necessarily to play the 1st XI, but a side to match the one that we get together!!
