SIDLEY III 176-8 (15pts)
HELLINGLY III 118-9 (8pts)
SIDLEY were denied an East Sussex Cricket League victory in agonising fashion on Saturday afternoon.
Robin Cooper’s charges were thwarted by an unbroken 22-run stand for the final wicket which spanned seven overs in Division 11.
Andy Pearson (5-48 from 20 overs) and Garth Baker (3-26 off 10 overs) bowled very well to put Sidley on the brink, and Cooper took the other wicket.
Sidley had earlier chalked up six batting points courtesy of Paul Oxborrow (52), Kevin Kempthorne (38), Tony Galvin (22), Ross Settles (20 not out) and Rachel Dangerfield (11).

SIDLEY II 149 (pts)
WORTHING II -3 (30pts)
A NIGHTMARE start was behind Sidley being beaten in 2nd XI Division Two of the Sussex Cricket League on Saturday.
Visiting Sidley slumped to 25-6 against strong opposition despite 15 from Craig Ramsden before captain Steve Ramsden (49) and Pete Savage (9) put on 57 for the seventh wicket.
Adam Wickens (40 not out) and Trevor Ramsden (17) then pieced together a tremendous last wicket stand of 60 to get Sidley into the points. Chris Mansell took 4-25 and Casey Lee 4-28.
Jamie Ramsden, Chad Smith and Wickens each picked up a wicket in reply, but Worthing were always in control and got home in 25..3 overs thanks in the main to 59 from Anthony Aduhene.

SIDLEY Ist XI 139 (3 pts)
WORTHING Ist XI 140-2 (30 pts)
The first team slumped to a heavy defeat at home to Worthing. Phil hit 41 to take us to 81-2, but wickets then tumbled - with only Scott(20) and Chris (26) making significant contributions - leaving us on 127-9. Gavin took 2 wickets early on to reduce the visitors to 9-2; however a third-wicket partnership of 131 then took the game out of our grasp. The absence of Tyrone, Peter and Guy made it difficult to take any further wickets. Unfortunately, this result enabled Worthing to leap-frog us in the table.
