What a pity that the 3rd XI match had to be called off due to a knock-on effect of players making themselves unavailable today. It is the youngsters that we are trying to bring on who really suffer.
Could not a few "occasional" players in the club make themselves available when we are in a tight corner? Calling off games does not do our reputation any good on the circuit. There is no disgrace in losing a match, but there certainly is in telling the opposition that we cannot even field a side.
Something for us all to think hard about, please, and act on.
